Loudoun Valley Raptor Center is a new, home-based wildlife rehabilitation center specializing exclusively in birds of prey (hawks, owls, falcons, etc.). We provide emergency care for these injured birds, and ongoing support to help them recover and return to the wild, healthy and thriving.
We are a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization that receives no state or federal funding, and relies solely on public donations. We could not provide the care and support these patients need without the generous financial support from people like you.
HPAI (Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza), which is severely impacting flocks of poultry and waterfowl throughout the country, is also heavily affecting the wild raptor population. As we prepare to open, it is vitally important to ensure that we have the appropriate facilities and biosecurity protocols in place to provide the safest environment for our patients and volunteers.
We are planning to construct a small isolation building, to safely intake and treat new raptor patients during their quarantine period. The cost of this facility is projected to be $25,000.
Please help us reach this goal with your financial or material donations. Together we can keep wild birds wild.
Loudoun Valley Raptor Center is certified as a Platinum Transparency nonprofit organization by Candid (formerly GuideStar).
